Water Damaged Flooring
Water Damaged Flooring
A northeast distributor of flooring suffered water damage from a leaky roof after an incredible rain event. Even though the stock is very sensitive to water damage (for example: cupping, expansion, twisting, etc.), we held a bid sale then awarded the stock to the winning buyer. Several days later we loaded the stock and promptly sent proceeds back to the insured to reduce the net loss.

Katrina Kitchen Recovery
Katrina Kitchen Recovery This loss of a kitchen / restaurant was by the impact of a 30 foot plus Katrina storm surge. Even though the kitchen was on the second floor, it was swamped waist high. We bidded the deal out, then salvaged the equipment for a positive recovery to the account of the loss, even when similar losses at the same location were demolished and tossed in the garbage.

Tornado Destruction
Hardware Store Destroyed by Tornado This Hurricane Charley hardware store was pummeled by a tornado spun from the hurricane. We competitively bid the stock to many buyers. Several buyers said we could only salvage one trailer load and bid accordingly. We persisted until we found the right buyer and sale structure, then salvaged four trailer loads from the wreckage. We also provided the necessary inventory information to the carrier to help settle this difficult loss. Our check back to the insurer covered the inventory effort and much more.

Roof Collapse
Roofing Collapse A major player in the professional tool market had a loss due to a snow related roof collapse in the Western US. The wet stock was shipped back East for inventory, salvage assessment and damage processing. The claim was laid out simply for the carrier for an easy adjustment at a low cost.

Oh What a Mess!
What a Mess! When a homeless man decided to light a candle for comfort below this railroad siding, little did he know his action resulted in a fire to this paper storage facility. In all, 8 million pounds of newsprint was exposed to heavy smoke and water damage. In many instances these items would have been considered a total loss and gone right to the landfill. We were able to find a buyer that was able to remove these goods, paying by the ton, process them and sell them as packing material for handbags and luggage. This turned an estimated debris removal fee of $500,000 around to net recovery to the insurance company of $400,000.

Wet Textiles? No Problem!
Wet Textiles? No Problem! When we arrived on the loss scene, we were informed that these textile rolls were a total loss due to water damage. These rolls were wet on the exterior, but after removing the plastic, we found that the water had barely penetrated the material. This condition was explained to all parties and hence the loss was settled for a fraction of the original estimate. We have handled virtually every type of textile in every imaginable condition. So when you say you have wet textiles, we say "no problem."
